Charles Ewing, professor of law, is quoted in an Associated Press article about the New Orleans Police Department's policy of releasing the criminal records of murder victims. Releasing all crime records might have unintended consequences, he said, "One of which is to say to the average citizen that this is not going to happen to you. You're a law-abiding citizen, so you are safe, which is not always true." The article appeared in news outlets news outlets around the country, including NPR, the Houston Chronicle, Yahoo!
