The Big Game...Homecoming Highlights...and the Parade

UB couldn't have chosen a better day for Homecoming Saturday-perfect fall weather, a large and enthusiastic crowd wearing UB blue, and a football game that warmed the hearts of UB students and alums. The Bulls' stellar performance in defeating Cornell's Big Red, 41-24, capped a weekend of festivities marking the university's 150th birthday.

Parents/Homecoming Weekend events began Oct. 4 with a bonfire and pep rally on the South Campus, sponsored by the undergraduate Student Association, followed by a carnival in the Townsend Hall Parking Lot.

Lectures and tours of campus sites took visitors to view the Fisk Organ in Slee Hall, the Pharmacy Museum and Apothecary and the Marian F. White Museum and archaeological survey.

Game-day events included a morning parade that wound its way down Main Street from LaSalle station to the South Campus, with marching bands, athletes, cheerleaders, floats and antique cars, one carrying the Grand Marshals, President and Mrs. William Greiner. Parents/Homecoming Weekend concluded Sunday with a brunch in the Student Union.
