Carl Louis Evans Grant, 46, medical school instructor
Services were held Oct. 9 in Antioch Missionary Baptist Church for Carl Louis Evans Grant, chair of the medical staff at Sheehan Memorial Hospital and a clinical instructor in medicine at the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Grant died Oct. 5 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital after a short illness. He was 46.
A graduate of the UB medical school, Grant attended Marist College and took his pre-medical studies at Harvard University. A specialist in internal medicine, he had a private practice in Buffalo, operated a clinic at 305 Perry St. and made house calls. He was a staff member at Buffalo General Hospital and the Erie County Medical Center.
In 1992, Grant received the UB Biomedical Sciences Commendation for Teaching Excellence.
He was a member of the American Medical Association, the American Anatomical Association and the Educational Research Board.
