The UB Employees Campaign for the Community started in 1976 as part of the State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA). For over 45 years, the campaign has given all university employees and retirees a way to make a meaningful contribution to charitable organizations worldwide.
Our campaign consistently ranks among the most successful of its kind among the nation’s colleges and universities. UB donors can choose to contribute to any of more than 2,800 health, human service, educational, environmental and cultural organizations. Historically, over 80 percent of the money raised through the campaign has been designated for agencies in the Buffalo-Niagara region. These donations help tens of thousands of our fellow community members by providing services that align closely with UB’s priorities for community engagement in the areas of health and wellness, neighborhood revitalization, economic development, and pre-K-16 education.
Dear UB Colleagues,
We are thrilled to serve as chair and vice chair of the 2024 UB Employees Campaign for the Community. Thanks to your continued support, the University at Buffalo has a rich history of hosting one of New York State’s most generous university employee giving campaigns. This year, through our collective contributions, we can once again demonstrate our profound commitment to our community and support the organizations that contribute to its incredible vibrancy.
The Campaign for the Community provides a simple way for university faculty and staff to make charitable contributions to their favorite community organizations and nonprofits. Employees can choose from a wide array of agencies dedicated to wellness, literacy and environmental programs that are making a vast difference in the Buffalo Niagara region and beyond.
The generous contributions from our faculty and staff impact the lives of our friends, families, and fellow community members, while also echoing the mission of the university. We all reap the benefits when families achieve financial stability, when our children have access to educational opportunities that allow them to reach their full potential, when our community members enjoy good health, when our neighborhoods thrive, and when we all have the resources to lead fulfilling and independent lives. Strong and vibrant communities are developed through our mutual desire for positive change.
We hope you will join your colleagues with your enthusiastic support for the 2024 UB Employees Campaign for the Community.
With best regards,
