One of the stations in use on Saturday. UB HEALS students prepared each basin by adding Epsom salt and warm water.

Clients soaked their feet in the basin for a few minutes.

The Epsom salt soak softens the skin.

The students gently cleanse the feet and if there are any concerns, such as infection, they contact one of the physicians, who performs an exam and provides treatment as needed.

The students then dry the feet and apply moisturizing lotion or powder to control moisture and odor.

After the foot bath, clients go to another station for new socks. Sarah Andres, a second-year medical student, offers different sock options.

UB HEALS has Narcan available to those at the clinic, and students take it with them when they go out on rounds in the city. Recovered opioid users were also at the clinic to counsel those who were interested in learning about treatment.
