You are hired at the hire rate for the salary grade assigned to your title.
Salaries are non-negotiable.
Step increases are given annually.
Across-the-board increases would be negotiated by your bargaining unit.
One year of experience supervising staff engaged in the maintenance, overhaul and repair of gasoline and/or diesel-powered motor equipment, including passenger vehicles, construction and heavy equipment, freight and other commercial cargo vehicles, self-propelled off-road equipment and non-self-propelled motor equipment.

Growth titles include Maintenance Supervisor 2 Motor Equipment.
Two years of first-level supervisory experience in either the maintenance and operation of a physical plant, building construction and/or building renovation and/or repair projects.
Two years of second-level supervisory experience in the maintenance and operation of a physical plant, building construction and/or building renovation and/or repair projects.
One year of full-time experience performing clinical and clerical support activities in a health care setting; or completion of a college, university, technical school or vocational school medical assistant program.
One year of full-time service as a laboratory animal caretaker in a research facility including but not limited to hospitals, universities, institutions or laboratories;
Or, two years of full-time experience in the handling and care of live vertebrate animals in other than a residential setting.
Growth titles include Principal Laboratory Animal Caretaker.
60 college semester credit hours which includes at least 18 semester credit hours in biology, chemistry, physics, health science or science technology;
Or, two years of professional experience in either a laboratory or a clinical setting performing technical laboratory tests and procedures;
Or, 30 college semester credit hours including at least 18 semester credit hours in biology, chemistry, physics, health science or science technology and one year of professional experience in either a laboratory or a clinical setting performing technical laboratory tests and procedures.
Or, an associate's degree or higher in biology, chemistry, physics, health science or science technology.

Growth titles include Senior Laboratory Technician.
Two years of full-time service as a laboratory animal caretaker in a research facility including but not limited to hospitals, universities, institutions or laboratories;
Or, two years of full-time experience in the handling and care of live vertebrate animals in other than a residential setting.
One year of full-time service as a laboratory animal caretaker in a research facility including but not limited to hospitals, universities, institutions or laboratories.
Completed at least 120 semester credit hours of college coursework which includes at least 18 semester credit hours in either biology, chemistry, physics, health science or science technology and six (6) additional semester credit hours in science, mathematics or computer science;
Or, three years of satisfactory experience in either a laboratory or clinical setting performing laboratory tests and procedures;
Or, a combination of the above equaling three years. College study will be credited in six-month segments, with 15 semester credit hours equaling six months. Credits must include at least 18 semester credit hours in either biology, chemistry, physics, health science or science technology and six (6) additional semester credit hours in science, mathematics or computer science.
One year of full-time experience as a Police or Peace Officer;
Or, one year of full-time experience as a dispatcher for a public safety agency including fire departments, emergency medical services or law enforcement;
Or, one year of active service and an Honorable Discharge from the United States military, where you served as a dispatcher or military police/security personnel.
