UB Police arrested a student today for making a threatening post on social media directed at people participating in an on-campus march this afternoon organized by the UB chapter of the Jewish Student Union.
UB took proative measures, including building and road closures, to ensure the safety of the university community and to protect university operations.
Wednesday evening, following a protest this afternoon on North Campus, 15 individuals — including some students and other individuals not affiliated with UB — were arrested.
Protestors removed tents after they were advised of UB policy prohibiting indoor and outdoor encampments. University Police and Student Life have also informed protestors that they need to disperse by dusk and no overnight assemblies are allowed.
The Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at UB supports salary increases and improvements to the educational and working conditions for its medical residents.
