Higher education, like many industries, is drowning in data and starving for information. UB’s Office of Institutional Analysis (OIA) has attempted to remedy that situation through the development of self-service dashboards that give wide-ranging audiences access to actionable intelligence to inform their decision-making. This session explores some key components in the evolution of a more data literate campus, and specific steps taken in this journey to date. See demonstrations of select dashboards with examples of their specific use to inform decisions for various audiences.
This session addresses concerns people often have with hazards in the office setting. It focuses on three main hazard areas: asbestos in building materials, electrical hazards and indoor mold growth. Environmental Health and Safety provides an overview of concerns associated with hazards, identifies where they are found on campus and discusses how they are controlled. Learn how to recognize if problems exist and how to get assistance.
This presentation highlights the critical role of IT policies in safeguarding university resources, detailing the structure and update strategies of IT policies at UB. It covers the steps for advancing and approving policies, recent changes and upcoming standards.
