Deepfakes of Elon Musk are contributing to billions of dollars in fraud losses in the U.S.

CBS News 11 Texas mentioned the DeepFake-o-Meter, developed by Siwei Lyu and his team, in a list of online tools that are helping people detect deepfake scams, which are estimated to have contributed to more than $12 billion in fraud loss last year.
