This fund recognizes those who have attained a superior level of achievement in medical training, and who support the goals of AOA-UB.
Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) is a national organization dedicated to supporting academic excellence and perpetuating excellence in the medical profession.
This fund, established by AOA, provides awards for students, residents, faculty and practicing physicians associated with UB’s Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, in recognition of their achievements.
Recipients typically have attained a superior level of achievement in medical training, and support the goals of AOA-UB. For example, residents are selected for scholarships based on their academic performance, as well as evidence of their scholarly research. Financial need may be considered in determining recipients, but is not the sole or primary criterion.
Chester A. Glomski, MD is a Professor Emeritus of Pathology and Anatomical Sciences. More than 100 beneficiaries have received support through this fund since its inception.
In the world of medicine, there is always more that we can do. More physicians we can train. More discoveries we can make. More lives we can save. Now, even as we celebrate all we have recently achieved, we continue to look forward to the possibilities ahead. Bold ambitions require big investments—and generous support. Together, we will continue to build on our shared success and lead the way toward the future of medicine.
