Bianca Messinger is a third-year PhD student and TA in the English Department at SUNY-University at Buffalo. She holds an MFA from the Iowa Writers' Workshop and a BA with high honors in Comparative Literature from New York University. Her chapbok "parallel bars" was selected by Simone White for the 2021 Center for Book Arts Chapbook Prize. In addition to her graduate work she is an editor of the Poetry Project Newsletter and the How(ever) How2 Digital Archive project. Prior to her work at Buffalo she taught composition and creative writing at the University of Iowa. She is currently working on a translation of a novel by Argentine artist/writer Fernanda Laguna.
