A. Erdem Sariyuce's research is on large-scale graph mining, management, and learning. He develops algorithms and models to enable practical and insightful graph analytics for the real-world data which can be large, streaming, incomplete, and noisy.
More recently, he is interested in characterizing, detecting, and mitigating polarization in social media. He is particularly focused on algorithms that can locate and even lead to healthier conflicts where the individuals who are in conflict on one issue or identity are likely to be in agreement on others, and no one issue or identity in particular is dominant in determining the arrangement of social relations.
Dr. Sariyuce was previously the John von Neumann Post-doctoral Fellow at Sandia National Labs in Livermore, CA. He received his my Ph.D. from the Computer Science and Engineering Department at the Ohio State University.
