Jay Barber, is a clinical assistant professor in the English department and director of the Journalism Certificate program.
She is interested in the intersections that exists across art and science disciplines and is currently working on a project that examines the way high school students use creative writing to drive their interest in science and use science to drive their interest in creative writing. In the classroom she asks students to use writing as a way to investigate and interrupt societal issues. Currently she is building a community reporting initiative at UB that will connect students to local news outlets to bolster local journalism through student involvement.
