On April 22, 2022, UB Sustainability hosted an event with the following goals:​

• to share the progress that the Climate Action Plan committees have made in the past year;​
• to discuss what we are willing to do as an institution, a collective, and as individuals to meet the climate challenge; and​
• to determine actionable steps the represented groups can take to help advance our university’s climate action strategy.​

Aligning with the event’s third goal, each group was asked to write down “the top three initiatives your office/School/division/club can take to advance climate action and lower your area’s carbon footprint.” The results of those pledges are summarized in this document below.

Using the feedback that we received from this event, UB Sustainability is creating a Green Area Certification, which will guide each office/School/division to reduce their carbon footprint.
