BUFFALO, N.Y. -- University at Buffalo President Satish K. Tripathi praised Gov. Andrew Cuomo and SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher for the NYSUNY 2020 Challenge Grant Program, a capital funding initiative involving UB, Albany, Binghamton and Stony Brook that is expected to make SUNY a leading catalyst for job growth throughout the state, as well as strengthening the academic programs of the four SUNY University Centers.

"I applaud Gov. Andrew Cuomo, SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher and Empire State Development Corporation President and CEO Kenneth Adams, on announcing the 'NYSUNY 2020' program," he said.

"I was particularly pleased to hear the governor repeat his support for the University at Buffalo and the UB 2020 strategic plan.

"UB looks forward to responding to this new initiative, guided by our strategic academic vision.

"We will continue to work with New York's leaders to secure the resources to help UB fulfill its vast potential and serve as a catalyst for a brighter future for Western New York."
