BUFFALO, N.Y. -- UB School of Management professor Lewis Mandell says a war with Iraq will not have much impact on the U.S. economy.
"A short war, which is what is anticipated, probably will have no effect at all," says Mandell. "A longer war could have other effects, such as stimulated demand for aircraft and munitions, but this is unlikely because Iraq does not have the ability to knock our aircraft out of the air."
"Overall, the economic impact of war with Iraq would be a big yawn," Mandell concludes.
