Suspects Sought in Abduction, Robbery of 2 Students

University Police today issued an alert to the university community following the abduction and robbery of two students on the North Campus on Sunday evening.

The two male students were accosted by three men in the Spaulding Lot at approximately 8 p.m. They were forced into a car and driven to an undisclosed location. Their assailants, who displayed a handgun, forced the students to provide PIN numbers for their ATM cards and stole a cellular phone from one of the students. They were released on Main Street near the La Salle rapid transit station at approximately midnight.

University Police are looking for three black males, all over 6 feet tall. One suspect was wearing a UB Bulls hooded sweatshirt.

Extra police patrols have been added for the days ahead and the campus community is being asked to be alert. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to call University Police at 645-2222.
