Several arrests made in a similar off-campus crime that occurred the same evening, combined with an aggressive investigation of an incident in which two UB students were abducted and robbed in the Spaulding parking lot of the university's North Campus on the evening of Sunday, Nov. 23, hopefully will lead to arrests in the North Campus incident.

University Police and the Buffalo Police Department are continuing their investigation of the incident, which occurred at about 8 p.m. on Nov. 23. The students subsequently were released by three suspects at about midnight near the LaSalle Metro Rail station.

The student victims of the UB incident have been offered appropriate assistance and support from the campus community.

University Police continues to advise members of the UB community to be aware of their surroundings at all times; use well-lit pathways and parking lots; lock vehicle doors; avoid traveling alone, particularly at night; store the University Police telephone number (645-2222) on cell phone speed dials, and use the campus Blue Light phones as needed.

Extra police patrols continue and the campus community is being asked to remain on alert. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to call University Police at 645-2222.
