Undergraduate Winter Institute in Biostatistics
This annual program is designed to address the shortage in biostatistical researchers. Training focuses on biostatistical and epidemiological methodology, and the scientific knowledge to understand how to effectively apply the methodology in clinical and translational research. Participants (12-16 each year) are selected via an application process. The program consists of one week of intensive instruction by BERD faculty/guest speakers, followed by mentoring over winter break as students work on a real research project and present results at a virtual poster session.
High School Poster Contest

After a five-minute presentation by the students, BERD faculty judges provide feedback and speak with the student team about the field and careers in statistics.
