The Institute for Healthcare Informatics (IHI) actively supports clinical trials and streamlines the research process through various initiatives:
Speed-to-value: We focus on enhancing recruitment and enabling rapid cohort identification using TriNetX. This state-of-the-art end-user query tool allows users to search de-identified clinical patient data for feasibility, recruitment, and project enrollment. Data from more than 1.2 million patients' electronic health records are available to investigators throughout the Buffalo Translational Consortium at no cost, available here.
Industry-sponsored Trials: We identify industry-sponsored clinical trials with eligible local patients using TriNetX, facilitating their participation in cutting-edge research.
Privacy and Security: The IHI ensures the privacy and security of patient data by following appropriate Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols and providing HIPAA-level technical security.
Streamlined Processes: We have established a streamlined process for researchers to identify and recruit eligible patients in compliance with IRB protocols.
