Scientific Communication Micro-credential

Learners in the Scientific Communication Micro-credential will investigate methods to communicate clinical and translational research findings to varying groups of individuals. Participants are taught to write summaries of scientific information in plain language to aid in disseminating research findings to a diverse audience.

Curriculum — Videos:

Request and watch Scientific Communication videos — from past Core Competency Workshop Series and videos from past CTSI Open Research Office sessions — from the CTSI Education Workforce Specialist to build or hone key scientific communication skills. Workshop videos are:

  • Plain Language (presented by Andy Strohmeier, MEd; CTSI Open Research Office session)
  • Scientific Communication: Making Your Message Count (presented by Nancy Smyth; CTSI Scientific Communication Workshop session)
  • Effective Communication to Diverse Audiences (presented by Remi Adelaiye-Ogala, PhD; CTSI Scientific Communication Workshop session)

Video Recording:

Complete a 3-to-5-minute video recording that clearly communicates the message of the selected research topic.
