This project aims to utilize the the GlobalStar system for in-flight networking and data transmission, ensuring satellite safety by transmitting data and emergency commands. Marley's participation contributed to the growing body of research on towards enhancing satellite systems. Here is what Marley had to say about the experience:
What I Did:
"The objective of this study is to provide insight of integrating the GlobalStar system, a software designed radio (SDR) with the GLADOS satellite for an advancement in communication. GlobalStar operates using a constellation of 32 satellites that support different remote communications. This study proposes using the GlobalStar system to establish networking and data transmission during flight, ensuring satellite safety by sending data and emergency."
What I Learned:
"Participating in the nanosatellite lab has been a profound journey that has expanded my understanding of satellite communication and orbital technology. As a computer engineering enthusiast, I actively engaged in research to contribute to the enhancement of satellite systems. I aimed to optimize data transmission between satellites and ground stations, with the potential to revolutionize space communication. My technical skills flourished as I became proficient in using SDRs, and I honed my collaborative abilities by working closely with my project mentor and fellow team members. The most significant takeaway from this project was the appreciation for the real-world implications of technology. Witnessing my contributions improve satellite communication solidified my passion for this field. This experience aligns perfectly with my academic goals and supports my aspiration to make meaningful contributions to technological advancement."
