Seeking artist to develop Scientists are Superheroes postcards!

Scientists are Superheroes is an eduction and outreach program for a federally funded project to study Polar Regions. The program's center piece is a set of fun postcards that cast team members with superhero abilities! We want to expand these postcards!

Specifically, we are a team consisting of a broad range of scientists. We study biology, oceanography, geology, physics, chemistry. Our team consists of undergraduate students and graduate students, post-docs and professors.

Project outcome

The specific outcomes of this project will be identified by the faculty mentor at the beginning of your collaboration. 

We are looking for a creative artist/cartoonist interested in working with a fun team to develop 3-5 new postcards of our team members. The postcards are part of curriculum used to increase awareness of polar change.

  • Meeting with Professor Briner in Geology, project leader
  • Meeting over zoom with education specialist
  • Read scientist are superheroes website and look at curriculum
  • Read science project website to learn the flavor of the research
  • Meet with team members who will be featured on new postcards
