Clarke DS Fellowship

Overview

The William D. Clarke, Sr. Diplomatic Security Fellowship is a two-year graduate fellowship program funded by the US Department of State provides up to $84,000 in academic funding over two years; two summer practicums (a domestic practicum in Washington, DC with the Diplomatic Security Service, and an overseas practicum at a US Embassy or Consulate abroad); and personalized mentoring and professional development opportunities.

Upon successful completion of the Clarke DS fellowship program and the State Department’s Foreign Service entry requirements, fellow will receive an appointment in the Foreign Service as a DSS Special Agent and launch a career at the forefront of law enforcement and international affairs.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be a US citizen.
  • Be at least 19 years old and no older than 32 years old (except for preference-eligible veterans).
  • Be seeking admission to a two-year full-time master’s degree program at a US-based accredited institution.
  • Hold a minimum 3.2 GPA.
  • If selected as a finalist, have a valid driver's license and pass the Physical Readiness Test (PRT).
