Two SEAS faculty members were among the five UB professors to be appointed to the rank of SUNY Distinguished Professor, the highest faculty achievement in the SUNY system.
Teng Wu, an assistant professor in UB’s Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, received the Robert Scanlan Award from the American Association for Wind Engineering (AAWE).
Michel Bruneau, a professor in UB’s Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering received his third major award of 2017, when he was inducted as a Fellow into the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE).

Andrew S. Whittaker, a professor in the Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, received his second award from the American Society of Civil Engineer (ASCE) of 2017.
The award, given annually by the Structural Engineering Institute of ASCE, recognizes Whittaker's technical expertise in and dedication to the development of structural codes and standards.
