To request a building access,
The Incubator covers up to 3 badges/ company. Any additional badges will be at $13.50/ badge. Replacement badges will be issued at $23.50/ badge. (Request form is required) email the completed form to asalbare@buffalo.edu
No, you don’t need to be certified to perform the monthly inspection. The Incubator is responsible for the yearly inspection and each company is responsible for doing their own monthly inspections. Monthly inspections need to be recorded on the label and initialed. You can watch the video here for instructions. Contact asalbare@buffalo.edu with any questions.
Lab Safety Training is a requirement for all persons working in a lab at or affiliated with UB. Training is held annually downtown at the Incubator @ CBLS. Note that you do NOT need to be affiliated with UB to take the training held at the CBLS. Persons with UBIT names/person numbers can attend any training that is offered through EH&S.
Any clients that are working directly in one of the labs at the Incubator @ Baird, and are handling lab material, must complete LabSafety Training.

Please send your chemical inventory list to Asal Barem. Chemical inventory lists are then shared with the North Bailey Fire Department.
Chemical Inventory lists should be sent at least semi-annually, or whenever there is a change in the quantity of chemicals in your lab.

A lab/door sign is required if you have any hazard materials in your lab such as biohazards, compressed gas, flammable liquids, corrosive liquids, etc.
Hazardous chemical waste disposal is the responsibility of the client. We recommend working with a local vendor, such as Tonawanda Tank, to set up an account.
To dispose of biohazardous waste, an account with AdvoWaste is required. Please contact Asal Barem at asalbare@buffalo.edu or 716-645-1395 for information on setting up your account.

While USPS is delivered to the Reception Desk, all deliveries must go to the loading dock. The loading dock's address is Elm and Carlton. Please refer to it as the “BLSC Loading Dock” for deliveries.
An attendant is on duty, 8:30am-3:30pm, and can be reached at 716-845-3004. An email will be sent out if the dock is short staffed.

If you have a large group that requires parking, arrangements can be made with All Pro parking to have guests park in the 589 Ellicott Street lot. A daily rate per car will still be in effect but those groups that wish to cover this parking can contact All Pro directly.

Shared lab equipment is located throughout the building and can be accessed by those with a reservation for a fee.
