Annette Semanchin Jones is an expert on child welfare who has been involved with projects and research studies examining and evaluating innovative child welfare policy and practices.
Her research interests include child well-being in child welfare, strengthening support and social capital for foster youth, and addressing racial disparities and disproportionality in child welfare.
Semanchin Jones can speak on topics related to child welfare, including chronic neglect and adjusting to foster care. She can also discuss evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches to addressing child welfare, as well as differential response — a strengths-based approach to responding to child endangerment reports that aims to better engage families as a means of keeping children safe in their homes.
