Janet Yang’s research focuses on factors that determine how people perceive risk, especially in science, health and environmental communication. She also studies how risk perception impacts the way people seek, share and process information.

Yang’s team has examined these issues in relation to topics that range from climate change and plastic recycling to vaccination, Ebola and e-cigarettes.  

Yang can speak to the media about her research areas, and about strategies for developing clear and impactful communications in the fields of health and science.
