Karthik Dantu can speak to the news media about robotics, as well as the computing and artificial intelligence systems that power robotic systems. He can also discuss unmanned aerial vehicles and drones; autonomous driving; robots in the field; augmented and virtual reality; futuristic mobile devices, such as augmented reality glasses and virtual reality goggles; and other related fields.

His lab at UB – Distributed RObotics and Networked Embedded Sensing (DRONES) Lab – centers on real-world robot autonomy, including how robots see their surroundings, how they make decisions in the real world and how multiple robots coordinate to perform complex tasks. His lab is also interested in challenges associated with mobile computing, real-time computing and edge computing, including technology that enables robots to think in accurately in real-time.

Dantu co-directs the UB Center for Embodied Autonomy and Robotics.
