Laura Rusche can speak to the media about a wide range of subjects in genomics and genetics.
Her research focuses on chromatin and its impact on gene expression, genome stability and chromosome function. One area of interest is on proteins called sirtuins, which help to control the structure and function of chromatin.
Rusche is also an expert on yeasts, which her lab employs as model organisms to study a variety of biological processes. Among other topics in yeast biology, her team has investigated how yeasts respond to the availability of nutrients in the surrounding environment.
