Manoj Mate’s interdisciplinary research focuses on constitutional law, election law and voting rights, state constitutions and federalism, and comparative constitutional law.

He can speak to the media about many topics, including constitutional law; the Supreme Court; election law and voting rights; redistricting; federalism and state constitutions; American politics and electoral politics; the 2024 election; comparative constitutional law; civil rights and equality; race, law and inequality; and issues related to felony disenfranchisement.

His academic writings have been published in leading law reviews and journals, including the Connecticut Law Review, Tulane Law Review, Stanford Journal of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, Yale Journal of International Law, Columbia Human Rights Law Review, Berkeley Journal of International Law, among others.
