Michael Coury is an applied microeconomist. He has explored how voters demand new policies in response to the impacts of climate change and to changes in neighborhood crime. Coury's current research explores the causes of climate activism and how municipal investments in water infrastructure shaped the development of American cities

Coury uses empirical methods to show how citizens work together to provide local public goods in response to changing economic and environmental conditions.
