Mingchen Gao is an expert in artificial intelligence who works in computer vision, machine learning and other AI subfields. Her research applies these technologies to the field of medical imaging.

She can discuss with the news media the development of AI-powered medical imaging informatics and diagnostics.

In her lab, she creates algorithms that help machine learning models analyze medical images, leading to improved clinical decisions and more confidence in AI-assisted health care. Gao is also working to improve the performance of deep learning models in clinical environments, where data may be limited, patient populations may be more diverse, and rare diseases cannot be ignored, as in simplified lab settings.
