Ndubueze L. Mbah is a historian with expertise in the history of West Africa and the Atlantic World.
He can speak to the media about the social and cultural history of West Africa, including how slavery, colonialism, imperialism and Atlantic commerce have shaped the region. His research interests in West Africa include changing labor systems, the movement of people, slavery and abolition, as well as constructions of gender, sexuality and ethnicity between the 18th and 20th centuries.
Mbah has taught classes on global inequality and power; women, gender and sexuality in Africa; African states and civilization; Christian and Muslim communities in Africa; and more.
