  • A Year of Literary Note for UB's Kazimierz Braun

    Kazimierz Braun of Getzville, professor of theatre and dance in the University at Buffalo College of Arts and Sciences, is a historian, poet, translator, essayist, novelist, playwright, scholar and remains a leading theater director in his native Poland. On top of that, he is having a banner year. This year his work is the subject of a new 335-page book of essays, "Horizons of Theatre II: Kazimierz Braun's Way."
  • Robert Creeley to be Subject of 3-Day Conference of Scholars

    "ON WORDS: A Conference on the Life and Work of Robert Creeley," to be held Oct. 12-14, will feature presentations and readings by some of America's premiere contemporary poets, critics, translators, essayists and theorists -- all focused on the literary production of one of their most influential colleagues.
  • UB Art Gallery to present "Kim Jones: A Retrospective"

    "Kim Jones: A Retrospective" will open in the First Floor, Lightwell and Second Floor Galleries at UB Art Gallery in the Center for the Arts on the UB North (Amherst) with a public reception on Oct. 19 from 5-7 p.m. The artist will be in attendance.

    The Democratic Party is likely to net 10-16 seats in the House of Representatives as a result of the 2006 midterm elections, according to a forecast by University at Buffalo political scientist James E. Campbell.

    The Center for the Arts at the University at Buffalo will present Zodiaque Dance Company: "8-Dance Is," Oct. 18-22 in the Drama Theatre in the Center for the Arts on the UB North (Amherst) Campus. Performances will be held at 8 p.m. on Oct. 18-21 and 2 p.m. Oct. 21 and 22.
  • UB Anderson Gallery to Host Lecture by Smithsonian Curator Harry Rand in conjunction with the exhibition "John Hultberg: Vanishing Point"

    "John Hultberg: Vanishing Point," an exhibition in UB Anderson Gallery highlighting 21 paintings and 14 graphic works from the University at Buffalo's permanent collection, will be celebrated on Sept. 29 with a reception from 6-8 p.m. and lecture at 7:30 p.m.
