    The Center for the Arts at the University at Buffalo will present Bruce Hornsby -- Solo at 8 p.m. on Nov. 19 in the Mainstage Theatre in the Center for the Arts on the UB North (Amherst) Campus. Tickets for his performance go on sale at 10 a.m. on July 28.

    The University at Buffalo Graduate School of Education will commemorate the 30th anniversary of Edwin E. Gordon's acclaimed research defining music learning theory, published while he was director of music education at UB in the 1970s, from 5-8 p.m. July 30 in the Center for the Arts on the UB North (Amherst) Campus.
  • UB Anderson Gallery to Present John Hultberg: Vanishing Point

    John Hultberg: Vanishing Point, an exhibition at UB Anderson Gallery highlighting 21 paintings and 14 graphic works from the university's permanent collection, will open to the public in the first floor gallery at 11 a.m. on July 14.
  • New Virtual Reality Psychodrama Is a Rigged Game

    "Human Trials" is a unique virtual reality psychodrama in which duplicitous characters try to disempower a human participant on a journey to the "liminal portal of the unconscious" in a quest for her "Heart's Desire." The project is the work of an interdisciplinary team of media artists, computer scientists and dramatists at the University at Buffalo.

    The University at Buffalo has merged its Department of Art History and Department of Art into a new "mega" Department of Visual Studies in the UB College of Arts and Sciences.
  • Exhibition Says, "Happy Birthday, Morton Feldman!"

    The late Morton Feldman once said that composers make plans and music laughs. Feldman should know. He was an extraordinary, pioneering composer who made an impressive and unique contribution to 20th-century American music. He also was Edgar Varese Professor of Composition at the University at Buffalo from 1972 until his death in 1987. This year marks his 80th birthday and in celebration, the UB Music Library has opened an exhibition of material from its Morton Feldman Collection that will run through Sept. 11.

    The Center for the Arts at the University at Buffalo will present Linda Eder at 8 p.m. on Dec. 16 in the Mainstage theater in the Center for the Arts on the UB North (Amherst) Campus. Tickets go on sale June 9 at 10 a.m. The concert is sponsored by GEICO.
