Michelle Lynn Niescierenko, of Rochester, a third-year medical student in the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, has been awarded a $10,000 American Medical Association Foundation National Scholarship to help offset the cost of her medical education.

Kemper E. Lewis, Ph.D., is borrowing from an ages-old, medical-school teaching method, using "product dissection" to instruct his students in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University at Buffalo.

The new class of students at the University at Buffalo Law School may be more diverse in background and experience than any in recent memory. Of the 247 first-year students enrolled this fall at the UB Law School, about half possess the prototypical law-school student portfolio, but many come to the school from wide-ranging paths that have taken them all over the world.

Students at the University at Buffalo who received accolades for their leadership achievements during the 2004-05 academic year recently were recognized during the Pillars of Leadership Ceremony sponsored by the Leadership Development Center in the Division of Student Affairs.

UB Parking and Transportation Services has announced that beginning with the fall 2005 semester, all resident freshmen will be required to leave their vehicles in their residence hall lot or in a Park and Ride lot from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
