Creeley Receives Fulbright Grant to Lecture In New Zealand

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Robert Creeley of Buffalo, Samuel Capen Professor of Poetry and the Humanities at the University at Buffalo, has been awarded a grant by the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board to spend three months lecturing at the University of Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand.

Creeley, a poet of international reputation long associated with the pioneering Black Mountain movement in American poetry, left for New Zealand in May. He received the award on the basis of a national competition after rigorous peer review by the Council for the International Exchange of Scholars, affiliated with the American Council of Learned Societies.
