BUFFALO, N.Y. -- A Team Performance Certificate Program is being offered by the Center for Management Development in the University at Buffalo School of Management from Sept. 22 through Nov. 24.
Designed for business owners and managers who wish to improve their work environment through development of team skills and team-based operations, the 10-week professional program will be held in Jacobs Management Center on the UB North (Amherst) Campus on Mondays from 6-9 p.m.
The program is a component of UB's Center for Team Performance (CTP), directed by Jerry Newman, UB professor of organization and human resources and a leading researcher and consultant on the effectiveness of team skills in the workplace.
Seminar topics will include “Leading the Transition to Teamwork,” “Identifying Diversity in Team Members,” “Empowerment, Interpersonal Skill Building,” “Clarifying Roles in Teams,” “Making Meetings Work,” “Selecting Team Members,” “Coaching/Counseling,” “Facilitating Team Problem Solving and Decision Making,” “Conflict Management” and “Team Leadership.”

The Center for Management Development was formed in 1976 to meet the growing need for continuing management education. The center draws upon the research and expertise of UB School of Management faculty and prominent business executives for development of programs to assist the Western New York business community.
