UB School of Nursing to Host Continuing-Education Program

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The School of Nursing at the University at Buffalo is offering a continuing-education program this fall covering various topics of interest to nurses and other health-care providers.

• “Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers,” Oct. 22 and Jan. 13. This program will give participants an understanding of the fundamentals of heart disease and instruction in CPR and airway-obstruction management for adults and children.

• “The Wisdom of Healing,” Oct. 25. The program will center on understanding the unique mind-body connection, biological rhythms and the keys to perfect balance.

• “Rehabilitation Nursing Concepts: Parts I & II,” Nov. 6 and 13. The program is designed to improve the therapeutic effectiveness of nursing in the rehabilitation of individuals challenged by physical disabilities and chronic illness.

• “Pediatric Pharmacology,” Nov. 4 and 18. This program will cover common pediatric medications that nurses encounter in their care of children. Drugs covered will include oral antibiotics, anti-inflammatory agents and bronchodialators.
