BUFFALO, N.Y. -- An eight-week course that details strategies and procedures for buying or selling a business is being offered by the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL) in the University at Buffalo School of Management.
The course, for business owners and advisors, entrepreneurs and accountants, will be held from 6:30-9 p.m. on Tuesdays from Oct. 21 through Dec. 9 on UB's North (Amherst) Campus.
Taught by Edward W. Hutton and Brain K. Pearson of Strategic Finance, leading consultants in business valuations and capital transactions, the course will detail how to value a business and how to negotiate and structure transactions that benefit both buyer and seller. Other topics will include financing methods, sources for locating buyers and sellers, and operating a business after purchase.
Participants will receive 24 hours of continuing-education credit. The registration deadline is Oct. 17. For more information, call 645-3000.
In its eleventh year, the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership serves Western New York entrepreneurs whose companies are past the start-up phase and who would benefit from additional training, mentoring and networking. Owners and operators of more than 250 companies have benefited from the CEL program.
