BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Advances in dental implants, materials, techniques and products will be among the topics presented at the 21st annual Greater Niagara Frontier Dental Meeting, to be held Oct. 8-9 in the Buffalo Convention Center.
Some 2,500 dentists, dental students, researchers and auxiliaries in dental-related fields are expected to attend the event, sponsored by the University at Buffalo Dental Alumni Association.
The program will begin each day at 8:30 a.m. and continue until 4:30 p.m.
Highlights on Oct. 8 will include all-day programs on "How To Be An Extraordinary Dentist" by Marvin Berman, D.D.S., a Chicago dentist, CBS radio-show host and faculty member at Northwestern University and the University of Illinois Dental schools, and on the latest materials and techniques in dental restorations by Dallas-based educator Charles W. Wakefield, D.D.S.
That evening, the dental alumni association will hold a dinner dance at 6:30 p.m. in the Hyatt Regency Ballroom.
Programs through which dentists may volunteer their services in Third World and other underserved countries will be discussed from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Oct. 9.
Members of the UB dental alumni association who have paid their dues are invited to attend a pre-meeting forum from 7-9 p.m. on Oct. 7 with dental school Dean Louis J. Goldberg, other members of the school administration and faculty members.
The latest dental products and services will be on display from 5:30-7 p.m. on Oct. 7 and throughout the day Oct. 8-9.
UB dental graduates from the classes of 1938-93 at five-year intervals will hold reunions during the meeting.
