BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Dana Goldstein of Plainview, a 1999 summa cum laude graduate of the University at Buffalo, was student vocalist on May 16 at the university's 153rd commencement ceremony, where degrees were awarded to students in the university's College of Arts and Sciences.
Goldstein, who majored in music education, began her career at UB as the recipient of a Performing and Creative Arts Honors Scholarship. She was a member of the UB select choir for six semesters and had a supporting role in the UB opera workshop's production of "The Magic Flute." She also is founder and musical director of UB's first and only premier female a cappella group, the Royal Pitches.
Goldstein, a member of the Phi Eta Sigma, Golden Key, and Mortar Board national honor societies, competed her student teaching in the Amherst Central School District. She will pursue graduate studies in vocal performance at one of the nation's top music schools.
