BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Elizabeth Levy, Buffalo native and the author of more than 70 children's books, will discuss the role of humor in children's literature during a presentation at 7 p.m. June 14 in UB’s Student Union Theatre on the North Campus.
The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be preceded by a reception at 6:30 p.m. Children are welcome.
It will be sponsored by the UB student chapter of the American Library Association, the Graduate Student Association, UB Child Care Center, the School Librarians' Association of Western New York, the Educational Leadership and Policy Student Association and the Language and Instruction Graduate Student Association.
Levy is best-known for her humorous mysteries, including the "Something Queer…," "Brian and Pea Brain" and "Invisible, Inc." series. Her most recent books are "The Drowned," a tale of the supernatural, and a picture book, "Cleo and the Coyote."
She travels extensively, visiting schools and libraries throughout the country and around the world.
