BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The UB Center for the Arts will present The Second City National Touring Company on March 24 in the Drama Theatre of Center for the Arts on the North Campus. The performance will be held at 8 p.m. and is sponsored by the undergraduate Student Association.
Opening its doors in 1959, The Second City has been touring the world with its trademark satire and wit for decades. The company's alumni list reads like a who's who of American comedy, including: John Belushi, Bill Murray, Robert Klein, Gilda Radner, Mike Myers, Dan Akroyd, Chris Farley, Martin Short, John Candy, and a host of others.
Featuring a blend of classic scenes, songs, and improvisations performed by a six-member ensemble, an evening with The Second City's National Touring Company combines the best material from the company's storied history with the brightest comic performers of the future. Irreverent, hilarious, intelligent and provoking are just a few words to describe The Second City.
Second City's National Touring Company has appeared at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival, The English Speaking Theatre in Austria, The Kennedy Center, Mayfest in Scotland, as well as countless Universities and Performing Arts Centers across the globe.
