UB’s EOC To Hold 27th Graduation Ceremony

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Julian C. Johnson, a Buffalo attorney, concert producer, promoter and UB alumnus, will speak at the UB Educational Opportunity Center's 27th annual graduation ceremony, to be held at 7 p.m. May 24 in the Mainstage Theatre in the Center for the Arts on the North Campus.

Some 600 students will graduate from among the 17 EOC programs.

Johnson, whose practice concentrates on entertainment law, business development, real estate, criminal and family law, is chair of the EOC Alumni Association.

He received a bachelor's degree in business from UB in 1976 and graduated from the UB Law School in 1984. Johnson was an assistant district attorney in the Erie County District Attorney's Office before entering private practice.

He is chair of the board of directors for GROUP Ministries of Buffalo and J.W. Loguen Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church. He also is a board member for the Erie Community College University Advisory Council.

The Friends of EOC Individual Award will be presented to Stephen P. Colombo, director of clinical operations in the UB School of Dental Medicine.

Recipients of the Friends of EOC Corporate Award will be Pat DeAeth, human resources specialist, Rich Products; Kim Evans, employee relations manager, Ivoclar North America; Doreen Moscato, secretary, Talking Phone Book; Karen Synor, director of Volunteer Services, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, and Veronica Thomas, bank officer-human resources, M&T Bank.
