BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The UB Department of Art will present enrichment programs this summer in drawing, printmaking, painting, sculpture, illustration, photography and computer graphics.
The programs will include a 19-day course for high-school students and intensive, three-day workshops in a variety of areas open to participants of any age from the Western New York community.
The course for high-school students will begin on July 10 and culminate with a group show on July 29. Students will study drawing and painting for three hours each day, with the afternoon devoted to studio sessions in sculpture, printmaking and photography.
Optional evening programs will include visits to art galleries and artists' studios.
Tuition for the course is $675.
The three-day enrichment workshops will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 5-7, and are open to the public. Participants will receive 18 contact hours for attending a workshop.
The workshop subjects and tuition costs, which include all supplies, are printmaking, $150; computer graphics, $200; portfolio preparation, $140; painting, $130; drawing, $150; photography, $250; woodcarving and assemblage, $250, and communication design, $200.
