BUFFALO, N.Y. -- New ways of coping with stuttering will be presented at a workshop to be held April 21 at the University at Buffalo by two recognized experts in the field.
Designed for adults, teens and children who stutter, the interactive workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Biomedical Education Building on the UB South (Main Street) Campus.
The cost of the workshop, sponsored by the Buffalo Chapter of the National Stuttering Association and UB's Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic, is $40 for adults, $15 for students and $20 for a parent and child.
Conducting the workshop will be Gary Rentschler, Ph.D., director of the Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic at Duquesne University, and Robert Quesal, Ph.D., a professor at Western Illinois University (WIU).
Formerly director of UB's Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic, Rentschler is a founder of the Buffalo Chapter of the National Stuttering Association.
He also created "Stutter Buddies," a newsletter for kids who stutter.
Quesal teaches courses at WIU in fluency disorders, anatomy, speech and hearing sciences, and voice disorders.
He often speaks at regional, national and international conferences on stuttering and is editor of CARE, a newsletter for parents of kids who stutter.
