"Buffalo's Quest for Financial Stability" to be Topic of UB Municipal Law Forum

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Progressive Law Society, a student organization of the University at Buffalo Law School, will sponsor a municipal law forum titled "Buffalo's Quest for Financial Stability" from 4-6 p.m. March 20 in 106 John Lord O'Brian Hall on the UB North (Amherst) Campus.

The purpose of the forum is to facilitate an open discussion among local civic and elected leaders in order to address concerns about Buffalo's financial stability, as well as to strengthen the ties between the UB Law School community and the greater Buffalo community. The forum will be free and open to the public.

Participants will include: James W. Pitts, president of the Buffalo Common Council; Kevin Gaughan, regionalism advocate; John J. Kuryak, mayor of the City of Lackawanna; Susan J. Grelick, supervisor of the Town of Amherst; William Benfanti, political action coordinator for CSEA Local 1000, AFSCME, AFL-CIO; Bruce Fisher, chief of staff for Erie County Executive Joel Giambra; Michael Risman, corporation counsel for the City of Buffalo; and Eva Hassett, commissioner of administration and finance for the City of Buffalo.
