BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Eighteen new graduates of the University at Buffalo School of Management received awards during the school's commencement ceremony on May 10.
They are:
o Gina M. Sottile of Clarence, the Delta Sigma Pi Scholarship Key, presented to the full-time undergraduate student who compiles the highest management grade-point average of all eligible graduating students
o Gaurav M. Patankar of Eggertsville, the Charles H. Diefendorf Award in Finance, presented to the student who has made the greatest contribution to the finance discipline
o Pascal E. Cohen of Amherst, the Sidney N. Kahn Memorial Award, presented to the MBA student who has made the greatest contribution to the field of sales and marketing
o Mehret R. Tesfay of Buffalo, the Outstanding Student Practitioner of the Year Award in Accounting, presented to the undergraduate or MBA student who has performed in an outstanding manner in every dimension of the accounting practicum
o Sa Zhang of Buffalo, the Outstanding Student Practitioner of the Year Award in Finance, presented to the undergraduate or MBA student who has performed in an outstanding manner in every dimension of the finance practicum
o Jennifer M. Brace of Buffalo, the Outstanding Student Practitioner of the Year Award in general management, presented to the undergraduate or MBA student who has performed in an outstanding manner in every dimension of the general management practicum
o Daniel J. Fiegel of Lockport, the Outstanding Student Practitioner of the Year Award in Human Resources, presented to the undergraduate or MBA student who has performed in an outstanding manner in every dimension of the human resources practicum
o Jeffrey D. Hawkins of Buffalo, the Outstanding Student Practitioner of the Year Award in Internal Audit, presented to an undergraduate or MBA student who has performed in an outstanding manner in every dimension of the internal audit practicum
o Shamik Banerjee of Buffalo, the Outstanding Student Practitioner of the Year Award in Management Science and Systems, presented to the undergraduate or MBA student who has performed in an outstanding manner in every dimension of the management science and systems practicum
o Sheena Lin of Buffalo, the Outstanding Student Practitioner of the Year Award in Marketing, presented to the undergraduate or MBA student who has performed in an outstanding manner in every dimension of the marketing practicum
o Rachel K. McCann of Amherst, the Undergraduate Achievement Award, presented to the undergraduate student who has demonstrated scholastic excellence and has rendered outstanding extracurricular service to the school and the university
o Emir Amirullah of Amherst, the MBA Achievement Award, presented to the MBA student who has demonstrated scholastic excellence and has rendered outstanding extracurricular service to the school and the university
o Julia C. Novelli of West Amherst, the MBA Achievement Award, presented to the MBA student who has demonstrated scholastic excellence and has rendered outstanding extracurricular service to the school and the university
o Jahyun Goo, Ph.D. Achievement Award, presented to the Ph.D. student who has demonstrated scholastic excellence and has rendered outstanding extracurricular service to the school and the university
o Doris A. Kollmar of Tonawanda, the Adriana Ilyse Thaler Memorial Senior Award in Marketing, presented to the senior marketing student who best demonstrates academic excellence, leadership, marketing professionalism and personal motivation
o Philippe B. Cruz of Amherst, a University at Buffalo Accounting Association Michael S. Dockery Memorial Senior Award, presented to the senior accounting students who have contributed in a superior way to the Institute of Management Accountants and the accounting profession, fellow students and to the School of Management
o Rachel K. McCann of Amherst, a University at Buffalo Accounting Association Michael S. Dockery Memorial Senior Award, presented to the senior accounting students who have contributed in a superior way to the Institute of Management Accountants and the accounting profession, fellow students and to the School of Management
o Mikhail Chapnik of North Tonawanda, the Wall Street Journal Award for Academic Excellence by an MBA student, presented to the full-time MBA evening student who compiles the highest management grade-point average of all eligible graduating students.
